Why We Chase Clues
Because the best moment in any puzzle isn't getting the answer. It's seeing why it couldn't have been anything else.
Who we write for
Fjord Compass Taco is an independent editorial site for curious adults and casual solvers: people who enjoy a riddle over coffee, argue about Monty Hall at dinner, or got hooked on a logic grid and want to know how the experts think.
We are not affiliated with any puzzle publisher, app or brain-training company, and we don't sell puzzle products.

Our editorial standards
Explain, don't announce
Every answer comes with the reasoning that forces it, and the hidden constraint is named.
Praise reasoning, not speed
We never time you or claim a puzzle measures intelligence. Sound thinking is the goal.
Cite the history
Dates, names and attributions link to sources. Where an attribution is doubtful, such as the "Einstein" Zebra puzzle, we say so.
No overclaiming
We don't promise puzzles will prevent memory decline. The research is mixed, and we say that plainly.
Correct mistakes openly
